Bulls vs. Lakers and the NBA Playoffs

Bulls versus Lakers was a 1991 video game that was available for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis game console. The game was a sequel to Lakers versus Celtics video game using the same engine. Following the same format, the game was named after the two teams that appeared in the NBA finals.

The game could be played in various ways: players could play against each other, or against the computer. Games against the computer were divided into two levels, "exhibition" or "playoffs". Players could pick from one of the 16 teams that had gone to the playoffs in the NBA the year before the game was released. Games could be configured for 2, 5, 8 or 12 minute quarters.
History

It was the first team basketball game that feature an in-game instant replay feature. It was however not the first basketball video game ever to feature an instant replay feature.
It was the first game in which Electronic Arts tried to establish itself as a sports network called "EASN", Electronic Arts Sports Network.
This basketball game used a star underneath the player to let users know which player they are controlling. The feature would ripple to all sports games in the future. Previous basketball games often highlighted the players socks black if they were being controlled by the gamer. Problem came about on small TVs, where the gamers had a difficult time seeing the black vs white socks differences.
This was the first game to use the team logo on the court floor.
